Christianity of a Fool

The photo above states:

“Christianity - The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree…yeah, makes perfect sense.”

First of all, let’s address the word “cosmic.” The word “cosmic” assumes that Jesus comes from outer space or from somewhere in the universe (feel free to check any dictionary or thesaurus for the word cosmic and find out its etymology). Unfortunately, this is incorrect. Jesus never claimed to come from outer space or from anywhere in the universe. Jesus claimed to have come from heaven (John 3:13; 6:62). Heaven is located beyond space and time (Isaiah 14:13) outside our universe.

Next, let address the word “zombie.” Claiming that Jesus was a zombie in also incorrect. The etymology of the word “zombie” refers to early 19th century via Caribbean Creole (Kimbundu n-zumbi), which interpreted into English means a "ghost“ or “snake god." Jesus was in fact no ghost; neither was he a “snake god.” Furthermore, the “zombie” inference suggests that Jesus Christ was brought back to life by voodoo magic. The bible clearly states that Jesus rose from the dead by the power of God and not from any dark or evil forces of voodoo magic (John 10:17-18).

The statement “who was his own father” is totally incorrect. Jesus never claimed to be the Father in heaven. As a matter of fact, Jesus said that his Father sent him to do the work of the Father (John 10:36). Furthermore, when Jesus was on earth at the river Jordan being baptized, the Scriptures say that “the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy (Matthew 3:16-17, NLT).” Therefore, since Jesus was a man on earth, he could not be the Father in heaven.

The assertion that Jesus can “make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh” is also incorrect. Jesus never said that if you symbolically eat his flesh, you can have eternal life. The way to inherit eternal life is not through holy communion (by symbolically eating Jesus’ flesh and drinking his blood) but it is by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 3:15,16,36; 5:24; 6:40,47,63).

As a result of believing in Christ, God’s Holy Spirit enters into the believer and thus grants the eternal life. The speech in John 6:53-58 is not literal. Jesus is speaking in a figurative sense in representation by allegorical figures by using an allegorical or emblematic human figure to represent an abstract idea or quality. Jesus is suggesting that once a person believes in who Jesus Christ is, then by using a metaphorical idea, is given eternal life. Jesus’ explanation is given in John 6:57 which says, “I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] on me will live because of me (AMP/NLT).” In other words, eternal life is given by God to the one who accepts Christ and lives for Him. It’s not a one time deal, but a lifetime commitment to following Jesus everyday, even when we don’t feel like it.

Prayer is not telepathic. Telepathy contains supposed extrasensory psychic communication using the mind such as thought transference, ESP, mind-reading or sixth sense intuition. Prayer is not a form of any psychic communication. Prayer involves speaking from the heart; from the depths of your most inner spirit. When God hears our prayers, they are not heard audibly or telepathically by God but they are heard from the heart (not a physical beating organ of flesh) of a man’s spirit (life force) and soul (emotion); which is really who you are at the very core of your being. How does God hear your prayers? God is omnipresent. That means, God is everywhere and knows all things about you; even your most inner and darkest secrets hidden away in the depths of your heart.

The phrase, “he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity” contains some truth. However, it misrepresents the true meaning and full nature of sin. Sin is not an “evil force.” Sin is strictly defined in the bible as “lawlessness (the breaking, violating of God's law by transgression or neglect; being unrestrained and unregulated by His commands and His will) (1 John 3:4, AMP).” In other words, sin is disobedience! Therefore, since the bible says that all men and women came from Adam and Eve, and since we were in them before we were born, we sinned too because they did also.

The above statement says that Eve (rib-woman) “was convinced by a talking snake.” This is offensively conspicuous, obtrusive and conspicuous in an offensive way. If anyone with a brain can read the Genesis story in chapter 3 of Genesis, we will find that Eve was persuaded by a “serpent” and not a “snake.” In Genesis 3:14 God says to the serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed above all [domestic] animals and above every [wild] living thing of the field; upon your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust [and what it contains] all the days of your life (AMP).”

Did you read that? God told the serpent, “upon your belly you shall go.” That would conclude something from reasoning that before God cursed the serpent, he must have had a form of mobility other than his belly! Therefore, the serpent was not a “snake” until after the curse from God was cast upon him.

Finally, the statement above says that Eve ate from a “magical tree.” The bible never claims that the tree of the knowledge of good and evil contains magical properties. Genesis 2:16-17 simply states that, “the Lord God warned him [Adam], “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die (NLT).” Even though Adam didn’t physically die immediately, Adam died spiritually. In other words, because of Adam’s disobedience (the breaking, violating of God's law by transgression or neglect; being unrestrained and unregulated by His commands and His will), Adam was dead to God. Only when we are obedient to God, by trusting in Him alone are we counted as righteous.

Romans 4:1-8 “Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God’s way. For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it: “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin (NLT).”

My conclusion is that whoever came up with this idiotic idea of who Jesus was, is a fool. They have no clue who Jesus was, is or will be. They have their own ideas of what they think Jesus is and it’s obvious they do not know Jesus or the Scriptures at all. Evidently, they are completely wrong about Jesus and have believed a lie.

Romans 1:18-22 "God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools (NLT)."

Proverbs 13:16 - “Wise people think before they act; fools don’t- and even brag about their foolishness (NLT).”

Really? I can't believe that people believe in evolution. You're telling me that the whole universe was compacted into a little dot about the size of a period on this page and then it all just exploded one day. Then the earth was formed and it rained on the rocks for millions of years and life just sprang up out of the ocean? Single-celled organisms somehow reproduced themselves and the decided to evolve into billions of lifeforms and over billions of years one of them became a man? How did we get the women? Talk about a fairy-tale. Evolution is ridiculous.

And the notion that the world was created by some divine being in seven days is as equally believable. Definition of faith is a belief that cannot be proven. Your post is acting upon a century old text that has had far too many different people write it and as a result, has mixed cultures and beliefs mixed into it. Although I am an atheist, I do not believe in evolution. So do not go ahead and say that your belief is not as ridiculous as others.

@ciknay,

1 Corinthians 1:18-25 "The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”
So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength (NLT)."
